so the typhoon has come and gone and you would have never known except for the slight breeze and wet ground! class was much better today - why does class always seem better when she doesn't come? i feel bad for feeling that way though. i think i will officialy give up on the boy, found out his g/f is coming to japan tomorrow and i think im ready to let go, i think im highly capable of just liking him as a friend. invited to go out drinking tonight, but i dont really want to. im going to miss japanese food ... want more sleep. need a period soon!

everyone run and hide, the typhoon is coming! actually it's true. there a typhoon due to hit the hokkaido area sometime today or tomorrow, right now its causing havoc down south - i hope everyone is okay in tokyo and oosaka! i dont really know what to expect from a typhoon, considering i've never been in one, but i imagine it wont be too strong in hokkaido, but for now its causing more humidity than i like. it's only like 75 - 80 degrees maybe, but it feels like u cant breathe and can't sleep cuz its too sticky! thank goodness for dry heat in cali!

so my host mom apologizes for the most random stuff and i'm like dude u dont need to apologize for that! sometimes i come home a little earlier than expected and dinner isnt ready yet and okaasan says, oh im sorry, u must be hungy and apologizes for not having it ready. or she asks me if its okay to take a shower and just random stuff that im like, dude its unnecessary!

last night, expressed to my host family (we went out to dinner with the rents and brother and sis-in-law) how much i appreciate them and that i was lucky to get a good host family. it was cute, the other night we went over to my parents friends house for dinner and my host father told me that i have to tell him when i get married so he can get me a gift - like father like son - my host brother had told me the same thing about a month ago! too bad the one guy there that i thought was really cute and nice had to go and be 41 (i swear he didnt look a day over 30!). ahhh, my time will come, some day, hopefully, maybe - ok, well we will see :P

super poor, need to pay my phone bill, want to see harry potter, should buy gifts for folks back home - hmmm, anyone have any recommendations? i tell people here that i dont want to go home, but when the time comes, i think i will definately be ready!

realized last night that i am now super poor. i have about a dollar to my name here in Japan, must go to the bank and restock!

have u ever watched someone falling asleep standing up while on the subway? its actually quite amusing, it looks like some strange dance - they sway as they hold on to the hand ring, then jerk back awake, and sway again. last night went to another matsuri (festival). how come no one ever told me that japanese love to party? man, they have festivals all the time here! anyways, yesterday had to have been the most crowded place we have been in since coming to japan. it was crazy, u could only see heads in front of u! also didnt do to well with my attempt of getting voer the boy! but, hey u know what? there isnt much time left, so im just going to enjoy myself and have fun! so he has a g/f, not like anything is going to happen anyway! plus hes so cute and nice, hehe :)

i have determined japanese mosquitos are evil! went hiking on sunday with the host family and got a couple of bites on my leg that look horrible, i think cassie knows what im talking about - jason said the same thing happened to u! anyways, they itch like crazy!

should get going, i still have kanji hw to do. huge japanese test tomorrow, project for art class and more - oye, stop the madness :P

first - that's crazy uyennie! how long is that man's hair getting? eeek, im scared. andy have u recruited him yet (by the way, im jealous of u and ur dating ;) hehe).

japanese ... keigo sucks up the butt man!! no wonder risa hates keigo, it puts up this huge division between older and younger people that makes it impossible to get on equal ground! why does she annoy me soo much? i dont understand it.

did jess and i tell we went to a secret meeting on monday? yup, 6 others were there - total of 8 of us gather sgi members in a christian university. didnt understand them when they were actually talking about sgi stuff but then the meeting turned to us and they just asked us questions, kind of nice to get connected with sgi in japan - just 5 weeks before we leave!

last night we went out to eat (as usual). my host father is in tokyo right now so my host mom figured, hey im gonna drink it up! usually she doesnt drink that much because otousan isnt supposed to drink either, not like that stops him, i swear he drinks so damn much! anyways, lets just say for the first time i saw my okaasan get so sick she needed help getting into bed, and she only had 3 cups of sake! crazy!

im really scared of forgetting japanese. i have made some really good friends here that i will want to keep in contact with and im afraid if i forget my japanese it will prove to be difficult! must challange myself!! today we are having a bbq then might go over to a friends to watch a movie. friday going to a festival in odori with tomoko and the other 2. saturday im going over to my brothers place to make accessories with my sister in law. and next weekend we are going bowling together! feels good to have plans.

okay, well not really. it got up to 26 today and for those who are celsiusly challanged, thats about 80 which i hear is damn hot for sapporo!

i have determined that the washing machine at my house hates me ... it never works properly. i hate keigo - even japanese people make mistakes with it and they want us beginners to learn it! although, i will say this for keigo, it's pretty amazing that with one word - irashyaimasu - you can say coming, going, and existing at one time! wow.

so tonight i was supposed to go out with the boy and tomoko to curry, but the boy canceled on us yesterday because he has work or something. so its just going to be the ladies tonight - women are great in all languages. yesterday tomoko was saying her stomach hurt - i ask, hungry? - no - and i immediately understood what she meant, no words needed! fantastic!

why does my host mom feed me so much? recently i've been noticing that they give me the most food, dont u realize the reason im bigger than u is cuz i probably eat too much already? stop the madness ...
